CiviCS watches the landscape continuously. Neural networks trained for smoke columns and open flame flag the first signs of a fire from long-range cameras — often before anyone calls it in.
Every detection is turned into a location. The camera's bearing is intersected with the terrain model to estimate the GPS coordinates of the event, so the alert carries a point on the map, not just a picture.
The platform was used and tested by civil protection during the Greek fire season, sending emergency event alerts to operators in real time.
